Co-Founding a Gaming Community: A Step into Leadership

In January 2014, I co-founded a gaming community with a friend, a pivotal moment in my journey. Leading a growing community of gamers gave me the chance to combine my technical knowledge with strategic thinking. This venture wasn’t just about creating a space for gamers—it was about crafting a thriving digital ecosystem that catered to their needs.

Delving into SEO: Driving Visibility and Growth

One of the first challenges I tackled was improving our community’s online presence. I immersed myself in the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), learning to craft compelling titles and meta tags that boosted website rankings. These efforts paid off, as our gaming community consistently held the top position in Google rankings for several years.

By understanding the nuances of SEO, I helped our website become more discoverable, attracting gamers from around the world. This not only increased our membership but also solidified our reputation as a leading gaming community.

Empowering Others Through Knowledge Sharing

I actively engaged with members of the gaming community by offering assistance across a wide range of topics. Whether it was troubleshooting Linux servers, configuring game servers, managing websites, or addressing general computer issues, I was there to help.

Beyond individual support, I contributed by creating tutorials and sharing resources. These efforts fostered a culture of knowledge exchange, empowering others to grow their technical skills and enhance their gaming experiences.

Advanced Server Management with Pterodactyl

During this time, I also honed my skills in managing complex server setups using Pterodactyl, a powerful tool for managing game servers across multiple dedicated machines. These servers were hosted in geographically diverse locations, ensuring a reliable and seamless gaming experience for our community.

By mastering Pterodactyl, I optimized resource allocation, minimized downtime, and ensured the scalability of our infrastructure. This experience taught me the importance of balancing performance with reliability, especially for large-scale systems.

Expanding Services and Prioritizing Security

As our community grew, so did our offerings. I took on the responsibility of hosting gaming servers, providing web hosting services, managing voice servers, and ensuring the stability of our Linux-based systems. Throughout this process, I placed a strong emphasis on security and reliability, safeguarding our users’ data and maintaining their trust.

OLDS Shield

I have also developed the first protection against a massive bot attack for CS 1.6 servers, known as OldStyle Protection that was utilized by 50 of the top-ranked servers (freakz, indungi, ecc) across the globe and keeping safe more than 1 million players. This robust and transparent solution was designed to address the vulnerabilities that server administrators often face, ensuring a secure and stable gaming experience.

An open-source plugin that safeguards Counter-Strike 1.6 servers against exploits, floods, and crashes. It was specifically crafted to counteract malicious bot attacks, which had become a significant threat to gaming communities.

Achieving Milestones: A Thriving Community

By the end of 2017, our community had grown to over 10,000 active members. It wasn’t just a gaming platform—it became a hub for like-minded individuals to connect, learn, and collaborate. The leadership and technical skills I developed during this time played a crucial role in shaping my approach to future projects.

Looking Back: Lessons in Leadership and Growth

My journey from 2014 to 2017 was a transformative period of leadership, technical refinement, and personal growth. I gained invaluable insights into community-building, SEO, advanced server management, and the importance of user experience.

These lessons continue to influence my work today, whether I’m developing secure web platforms, optimizing infrastructure, or building online communities. If you’re looking for someone to bring technical expertise and a community-focused approach to your project, let’s collaborate to create something extraordinary.
